Greek Landing Day in St. Augustine, FL, is celebrated annually on June 26th to commemorate the 1,200 Greeks, Italians, and Minorcans who arrived in 1768. Festivities are centered at the St. Photios shrine.

Hellenic Society Event
June 14, 2026
The Hellenic Society of St. Augustine honored its founders at Holy Trinity. The society was founded in 1973 and was instrumental in starting the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Its members hosted the first "Greek Nite" in St. Augustine in 1973, purchased the original Holy Trinity Church on Waldo Street, and participated in opening of the new church doors twenty years ago.
A memorial service was offered for the Hellenic Society founders, and coffee hour was sponsored by Mrs. Vasso Poulos.

Greek Summer Night
June 6, 2026
The 2026 Greek Summer Night was a huge success! A big Thank you and OPA! to everyone for your support and participation.
More than 30 volunteers worked to make this an enjoyable evening. We hosted 164 guests! The night was filled with fun, dancing and delicious Greek food. We raised over $6,300 for our beloved Holy Trinity Church.

Chrismation and Baptism

On May 30th we celebrated the Chrismation of Joseph and the Baptism of Photini, Elizabeth and Gabriel, who have been fully illumined by the grace of God and welcomed into the life of the Holy Orthodox Church.

Flavors of the World
May 17, 2026
On May 17th, we celebrated our Diverse Church Family. We all came together, bringing foods from our countries to share with everyone! The room was decorated to highlight the occasion. There was an abundance of food and desserts!
What a feast! So blessed!

Last Day of Sunday School

On Sunday, May 17th, our children celebrated the end of the Sunday school year. Fr. Maximos, along with teachers Haley, Melissa, and Kaliroi, presented students with certificates.

Second Bridegroom Service
April 6, 2026
On Monday, April 6, our Archbishop Metropolitan Sevastianos, visited our parish to celebrate the second Bridegroom service with us. We met with him to receive his blessings and enjoyed a lenten meal.
Chrismation Event
April 4, 2026
On April 4th, Saturday of Lazarus our church was filled with celebration and joy. The Chrismation of Tatiana, Lazarus and Ulrich, pancake breakfast for all, decorating our church, and Palm Sunday palm cross making.
Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and Greek Independence Day
March 25, 2026
March 25th is a special day for Greeks, marking both a major religious feast and a national holiday.
It commemorates the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and serves as Greek Independence Day, honoring the start of the 1821 revolution against the Ottoman Empire.
This event was commemorated on March 29th, when several of our parishioners read articles regarding this very special day.
Philoptochos Sisters' Upscale Thrift Sale

Living with Purpose

Our “Living with Purpose” event brought a powerful message of support and community. Together with the ARC of St. Johns we filled our church with people seeking inspiration to help their children live with purpose. David Egan, our headline speaker, and our supporting speakers provided that inspiration. Thank you to our city, county, and state leaders who supported this event, and thanks to each and everyone who helped us to present this event.

GOYA
January 24, 2026
The Holy Trinity GOYA prepared 50+ meals for the St. Francis House. Roasted chicken, pasta, green beans and bread was delivered to St. Francis House and Port in the Storm (housing-focused program that accommodates men, women and children).

Thank you to our young people who lead by example and are always available to help in any way they can. We are all proud of you!

Epiphany
January 6, 2026
Epiphany or Theophany is celebrated on January 6th and commemorates the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River revealing the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and Christ's divinity. Key traditions include the Blessing of the Waters, where the priest blesses a body of water, often by throwing a cross into it).

Our parish celebrated this event at the Shrimpers and Boat Building Monument, located on the edge of San Sebastian River. Many of our parishioners attended to celebrate this event!

Philoptochos Ladies Mix & Mingle
January 3, 2026
The January 3rd, Philoptochos Ladies Mix & Mingle event was a wonderful success. It was a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, we had fun, shared ideas and laughs, and we even attempted to sing New Year’s carols!

St. Basil the Great
January 1, 2026
The Vasilopita tradition is a New Year's custom involving a special cake with a hidden coin, symbolizing good luck for the recipient in the coming year, tied to St. Basil's generosity; families bless the house, cut slices for Jesus, the Virgin Mary, the poor, and each member from oldest to youngest, hoping to find the coin (flouri).
During this year's blessing, the Sunday school ministry got the coin!

Christmas Festivities

The Sunday School Christmas carols and pageant were a heartwarming celebration of the holiday
season, with our children bringing the Nativity story to life through song and performance. From the
joyful carols to the beautiful costumes, the event was a true reflection of the spirit of Christmas. A huge
thank you goes to our dedicated Sunday School teachers, whose hard work and commitment made this
event possible. We also want to express our gratitude to the parents for their support, helping to create
a wonderful atmosphere of community.
The Philoptochos ladies held their annual silent auction of gift baskets. The proceeds will benefit our
local charities.
The GOYAns prepared cookie boxes that were delivered to our homebound parishioners.

St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine
Annual Christmas Open House

The St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine hosted its annual Christmas open house in historic downtown St. Augustine. Members of our church participated in the celebration.

Later that evening, our church carolers visited our homebound parishioners and sang traditional Christmas carols.

Gifts of Grace with Gratitude for our Veterans!
December 9, 2025
This is the second year that our parishioners adopted a veteran at the Clyde E. Lassen Veterans Nursing Home in St. Augustine. This event was sponsored by the Philoptochos Society Chapters of Holy Trinity, St. Demetrios and St. Photios National Shrine.
The Clyde E. Lassen facility consists of six houses and each house accommodates 20 veterans.

Christmas Craft & Vendor Fair

The Holy Trinity Christmas Craft & Vendor Fair was a festive success. Thank you to all our vendors, shoppers, guests and volunteers! A Merry Christmas to all!
Friends and family gathered at the 4th Annual Memorial Bonfire on Dec 6. This annual tradition is a community fellowship and an evening to remember the departed.
The event began three years ago in memory of the beloved Mikae Gatenaos. On Dec 7, Koliva and Memorial service was offered in his memory. The Annual Mikae Memorial Bonfire reminds us to keep the fire of our loved ones alive and to continue our journey to keeping their memory eternal.

Artoklasia on St. Nektarios Feast Day
November 9, 2025
In honor of St. Nektarios an Artoklasia was offered to express our gratitude for all the blessings of life. St. Nektarios is the patron saint of people who are ill (cancer, heart trouble, etc.). The Artoklasia is a brief service of gratitude and it serves to remind the faithful of the miracle of the multiplication of the bread and fish by which Christ fed a vast multitude.

HTGOC Donates to Local Food Pantry
